How to Become a Life Coach
Life Coaching was something I sought out, probably just like you, by googling "life coaching philadelphia" to find someone to help me. Little did I know that would eventually become the name of my own practice! After engaging with a life coach myself, I really enjoyed the process and found it rewarding, and with my background in psychology and counseling, wanted to know how I myself could become a life coach. I was recommended by my life coach at the time to the School of Coaching Mastery. This is an online school recognized by the ICF (International Coach Federation) and IAC (International Association of Coaches). Through coursework, seminars and sessions, I accumulated 125 hours to earn my CPPC (Certified Positive Psychology Coach) accreditaion. The coursework is based on the teachings of Martin Seligman, the father of positive psychology. Many other life coaching schools offer similar programs - some where you can attend classes in person, others based mostly online. If you are interested in becoming a life coach, it is not hard too find the right program for you. I would recommend making sure they are recognized by another official coaching program such as the ICF or IAC. For as many legitamate programs that are out there, there are many that aren't.
